Charcoal Portraiture

Charcoal is my favourite drawing mediums for portraiture. There is something very honest about the raw markings left by a natural charcoal stick. It is forgiving and adaptable. I often find that my mistakes add so much to the quality of the outcome. Below are some charcoal portraits I produced at A2 size featuring my sweet little niece.
